Hospital Staff

Receptionist Kaley Shanks joined Bush Animal Hospital in 2009. She loves all types of animals and enjoys working with Dr. Whatley and the friendly staff. Kaley has three dogs: Presley, a one year old female mix; Buddy, a three year old male Beagle mix; and Barney, a four year old Australian Shepherd. A volunteer at the Humane Society, Kaley likes to stay busy by working out, traveling, going out with friends and playing with her dogs.

Veterinary Assistant Lauren Jones joined Bush Animal Clinic in January 2010. Currently studying to become a licensed veterinary technician, Lauren loves animals and learning more about the field of veterinary medicine. She is the owner of 10 horses and two dogs, a Cairn Terrier named Avery and a Yorkshire Terrier named Bentley. In her spare time, Lauren likes to ride horses and four-wheelers as well as spend time outside with friends and family.

A junior in high school, Paige Thomas says that she has always wanted to be a veterinarian so when she became old enough, applying for a position with Bush Animal Clinic seemed like the natural thing to do. "I really enjoy the time I get to spend with the dogs and being able to learn new things about all of the animals we see," she adds.
Hired in May of 2010, Paige is no stranger to taking care of dogs: her family has 20 of them. For the most part, these include English Setters that are primarily quail hunting dogs, but her family also keeps a range of dogs that she describes as "inside dogs." These include Britches, Parker, Purdey, Honey and Milli. When she has free time, Paige says she likes to play tennis and basketball, go shopping, and be with her family and friends.

As one of our receptionists, Dodie Marie Houston says, "I really love working with the animals and I also get to work with a lot of very sweet people."
Dodie joined the Bush Animal Clinic in December of 2010, but began her career in the animal care field in February of 2004. At home, she has a Dalmatian/Bird Dog mix named Spot, a Shih-Tzu named Molly, a Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog named Lyla, and a Guinea Pig named Lola. When not working, Dodie enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends. She also likes to sing, dance, fish, shop, go to the beach, see concerts and warm weather.

Ryan Austin Mobley is a Veterinary Assistant who has been with Bush Animal Clinic since July of 2011, but began his career in companion animal care in 2006. He has loved animals his entire life and says that he plans on entering veterinary school in the not too distant future. “Bush Animal Clinic is a great place to get hands-on experience,” he says. Ryan has a Yellow Lab named Sally and he enjoys wakeboarding, camping and white water rafting.
